The best 100 lb adjustable dumbbells for most home gyms are the SMRTFT NÜOBELL 100 lb pair: 5 to 100 lb per hand in 5 lb steps with a one-second twist of the handle, the only selectorized dumbbell we found that reaches 100 lb without plate-loading. If you want to start lighter and buy the weight as you need it, the PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP starts at 5 to 40 lb and grows in 20 lb stages to 100 lb with a 2.5 lb micro step; if you want the most durable heavy pair and do not mind screwing plates on, Ironmaster’s Quick-Lock goes to 120 or 165 lb with a lifetime warranty; and if money is the constraint, a spin-lock set or a pair of Olympic dumbbell handles gets you to 100 lb per hand for a fraction of the cost. This guide compares and ranks seven routes to 100 lb adjustable dumbbells on weight range, step size, change speed, length at full load, durability and warranty, using the makers’ specifications and retailer listings read on October 19, 2026.

Read the box carefully before you buy: most listings titled “100 lb adjustable dumbbells” mean 100 lb for the pair, which is 50 lb per hand (Core Home Fitness’s popular “100 lb set” is 10 to 50 lb per dumbbell, for example). Everything ranked here reaches 100 lb per hand. If 90 lb is actually enough, the BowFlex SelectTech 1090 and PowerBlock Elite USA 90 are cheaper and covered at the end. For dumbbells under 100 lb, see our general best adjustable dumbbells ranking.

Our pick

NÜOBELL 100 lb: best 100 lb adjustable dumbbells overall (5-100 lb, twist-handle)

The NÜOBELL 100 is the 100 lb version of the twist-handle dumbbell that tops our general adjustable dumbbells ranking, and it is the only selectorized dumbbell we found that goes all the way to 100 lb per hand with a one-motion weight change. Set each dumbbell in its tray, twist the knurled handle and the plates you want lift out with it in 5 lb steps from 5 to 100 lb, 20 settings per hand, so a superset of 25 lb lateral raises and 90 lb rows takes a second between movements. The shape stays dumbbell-like at every weight, with round steel plates rather than a block, so it sits in the palm for presses and rolls out of the way for a hex-style push-up grip the way a fixed dumbbell does. The trade-offs are the ones every NÜOBELL owner reports: the mechanism does not like being dropped (set it down, do not drop it), the handle is aluminum rather than steel, the full pair is heavy to move in its trays, and the warranty is 2 years rather than the 5 to lifetime the plate-loaded systems below carry. The Amazon listing is SMRTFT’s own; Bells of Steel sells the same NÜOBELL under its name, and SMRTFT’s own store lists the 100 lb pair in matte black and tactical finishes. If you want the fastest change at 100 lb, this is the one.

1. SMRTFT NÜOBELL 100 lb Adjustable Dumbbells: best overall: the only twist-handle dumbbell that reaches 100 lb

See our pick above. One practical note: at 100 lb each the pair in its trays is a serious piece of furniture, so plan a stand; NÜOBELL and Bells of Steel both sell single- and double-leg stands, and our best dumbbell rack guide covers the adjustable-dumbbell stands that fit tray-style pairs.

2. PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP: best expandable block: buy 40 lb now, grow to 100 lb

PowerBlock’s Pro 100 EXP is the block dumbbell that grows with you. The base dumbbell covers 5 to 40 lb; Stage 2, 3 and 4 expansion kits add 20 lb each to reach 60, 80 and 100 lb, so you can spend on the first stage now and the rest as your presses go up. A magnetic selector pin picks the main weight and two adder weights inside the handle give 2.5 lb steps, which PowerBlock says replaces 30 pairs of fixed dumbbells. At full 100 lb the block is 19.21 in long by 7.63 in wide and 7.72 in tall, the plates are urethane-coated, and the grip is a 38 mm knurled stainless steel handle (a rubber TPR grip is the other option). It is sold individually on Amazon and as singles or pairs at powerblock.com; the warranty is 5 years for home use. The shape is the thing to decide on: a block hangs around your wrist rather than sitting over the fist, which some lifters never notice and some never like. Garage Gym Reviews reviewed it as one of the better heavy adjustable options for a home gym.

3. REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbell: best premium pair: 125 lb max in an 18 in dumbbell

REP’s dumbbell with Pépin is the premium answer and the most compact heavy adjustable we found: each dumbbell runs from 10 lb to 125 lb and is only 18.3 in long at full load, shorter than most 50 lb dumbbells, with a flat-bottomed pro-style shape that does not roll. You pick the main plates by sliding magnetic pop-pins along side rails, and two 2.5 lb micro plates inside each handle give 5 lb steps (or 2.5 lb if you accept a small imbalance). It is sold as 65, 85, 105 and 125 lb pairs with a lifetime warranty, in full metal construction that REP says it has dropped from every angle in its own checks. It is also the most expensive route here by some distance, sold direct by REP (a plain link, not an affiliate link). Garage Gym Reviews has a published review of the Pépin FAST Series on which it is based.

4. Ironmaster Quick-Lock 75 lb set + 120 lb add-on kit: best for durability and drops: plate-loaded, 2.5 lb steps to 120 or 165 lb

Ironmaster’s Quick-Lock system is the old-school heavy answer: a steel handle with a screw-lock on each end and precision-cast, hand-machined iron plates that stack on in 2.5 lb steps. The 75 lb set covers 5 to 75 lb per hand; the 120 lb add-on kit adds four 22.5 lb plates and four longer locking screws, and a custom 165 lb kit goes further than any selectorized dumbbell on the market. Because the plates lock mechanically, these are the heavy adjustables you can set down hard without worrying, and Ironmaster backs them with a lifetime warranty. The trade is speed: changing weight means unscrewing both ends and restacking, which is 20 to 30 seconds rather than one, so they suit straight sets of heavy presses and rows more than drop sets. Sold direct at ironmaster.com (plain link).

5. MiniBeast MB Pro 100 lb Adjustable Dumbbells: best 10 lb-step dial dumbbell to 100 lb

MiniBeast’s MB Pro 100 is a dial-style dumbbell that reaches 100 lb per hand in 10 lb steps: turn the handle and the selector picks up cast iron plates from 10 lb to 100 lb. The 10 lb step is the thing to weigh against the NÜOBELL’s 5 lb and PowerBlock’s 2.5 lb: fine for rows and presses where a 10 lb jump is normal, coarse for shoulder work. It is sold direct by MiniBeast (plain link) and we have not compared an Amazon listing for it; the specifications here are the maker’s. Owner reviews on the maker’s site describe it as solid and heavy; check the current page for the handle length at full load and the warranty terms before ordering.

6. Yes4All Old School Adjustable Dumbbell Set, 200 lb option: best budget: 100 lb per hand with spin-lock handles

The Yes4All Old School set is the cheapest way to own a 100 lb dumbbell: two 14 in by 1 in cast iron handles, a stack of 1 in plates and star-lock collars, sold in 40 to 200 lb sizes. Pick the 200 lb option and each handle loads to 100 lb. It is slow (unscrew, swap, screw), the handles are long when fully loaded, and the collars need checking every set, which is why spin-lock sets lost the market to selectorized dumbbells; but the plates fit any 1 in bar and the set survives any drop. For a garage lifter who wants a heavy pair for rows and goblet squats on a tight budget, it is the honest answer. Our adjustable dumbbells vs rubber hex sets comparison covers when a fixed set makes more sense.

7. E.T.ENERGIC 20 in Olympic Dumbbell Handles (pair): best build-your-own: loadable handles for the 2 in plates you own

If you already own 2 in Olympic plates, a pair of loadable Olympic dumbbell handles is the shortest route to 100 lb and beyond. E.T.ENERGIC’s 20 in handles have rotating sleeves (so the plates spin rather than your wrist), a 28 mm knurled grip and spring collars, with a 500 lb rating on the listing. A 100 lb dumbbell is a 45 lb plate and a 10 lb plate per side plus the handle; the length at that load is the trade, since 20 in handles with four plates are awkward for anything but rows, shrugs, farmer’s carries and floor presses. LIONSCOOL sells similar 16 and 20 in pairs if these are out of stock. For most people this is the second-dumbbell solution, not the first.

If 90 lb is enough: BowFlex 1090 and PowerBlock Elite USA 90

Two well-known dial and block dumbbells stop at 90 lb and cost less than the 100 lb routes above. The BowFlex SelectTech 1090 Results Series runs 10 to 90 lb per hand across 17 settings with a one-second dial change; it is the heaviest dial dumbbell BowFlex makes and the one we rank in our general guide. The PowerBlock Elite USA 90 runs 5 to 90 lb per hand with a knurled grip and a 5-year warranty, in the block shape. If your heaviest dumbbell movement is a row or a press and 90 lb covers the next two years, either saves you money and length. BowFlex 1090 at Amazon   PowerBlock Elite USA 90 at Amazon

How to choose 100 lb adjustable dumbbells

Per hand, not per pair. The first thing to check on any “100 lb” listing. A 100 lb set is 50 lb per hand; everything ranked above reaches 100 lb in each hand.

Step size. 2.5 lb (PowerBlock, Ironmaster, Pépin micro plates) lets you progress presses week to week; 5 lb (NÜOBELL) is fine for most people; 10 lb (MiniBeast) suits rows and heavy presses only.

Change speed vs durability. Twist and dial mechanisms change in a second and do not like drops; screw-lock and pin-and-plate systems take longer and shrug off abuse. Decide which you will do more: supersets, or setting down heavy rows.

Length at full load. A 100 lb dumbbell that is 18 to 19 in long (Pépin, PowerBlock) presses and curls like a normal dumbbell; a 21 in or longer dumbbell (NÜOBELL, loaded handles) is fine for rows and presses and awkward for curls and lateral raises.

Expandability. If you are not sure you will ever need 100 lb, buy a system that grows: PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP stages, Ironmaster kits, or REP x Pépin’s 65 lb pair with add-on weights.

A stand and a bench. A pair at 100 lb each weighs more than most people want to lift off the floor to start a set. Plan a stand from our best dumbbell rack guide and a bench rated well above the pair plus your body weight; our best adjustable weight benches guide lists ratings.

Frequently asked questions

Are there adjustable dumbbells that go up to 100 lbs?

Yes, but far fewer than go to 50 lb. Selectorized options that reach 100 lb per hand are the NÜOBELL 100 (twist handle), PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP (block with expansion stages), REP x PÉPIN FAST Series (to 125 lb) and MiniBeast MB Pro 100 (dial, 10 lb steps). Plate-loaded options are Ironmaster Quick-Lock (120 or 165 lb kits), spin-lock sets sold in 200 lb sizes, and Olympic dumbbell handles loaded with your own 2 in plates.

Where can I find 100 lbs adjustable dumbbells?

The NÜOBELL 100, PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP, Yes4All 200 lb spin-lock set and Olympic dumbbell handles are on Amazon (linked above). REP x PÉPIN, Ironmaster and MiniBeast sell direct from their own sites, and Bells of Steel also sells the NÜOBELL. Big-box sporting goods stores rarely stock anything heavier than 50 or 52.5 lb adjustables.

Are 100 lb dumbbells heavy?

For most home lifters, yes: a 100 lb dumbbell row or a 100 lb dumbbell bench press is an intermediate-to-advanced lift. The reason to buy a 100 lb adjustable is not to use 100 lb today but to never need another pair: the same dumbbell covers 25 lb lateral raises, 60 lb presses and 100 lb rows as you progress.

What are the heaviest adjustable dumbbells you can buy?

Ironmaster Quick-Lock with the 165 lb custom kit is the heaviest adjustable dumbbell system we found, followed by REP x PÉPIN FAST Series at 125 lb per hand. Among one-motion selectorized dumbbells, the NÜOBELL 100 and PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP top out at 100 lb. Loadable Olympic handles are limited only by their rating and your plates.

How much do 100 lb adjustable dumbbells cost?

Prices change often, so we do not print them; the buttons above show the current price at each retailer. As a rule the order from cheapest to most expensive is: Olympic handles (if you own plates) and spin-lock sets, then Ironmaster and PowerBlock bought in stages, then NÜOBELL and MiniBeast, with REP x PÉPIN the premium option. Expandable systems let you spread the cost over a year or two.

Which adjustable dumbbell set is best for lifting 100 lbs?

For a fast change and a normal dumbbell shape, the NÜOBELL 100. For 2.5 lb steps and the option to start at 40 lb, the PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP. For a pair you can set down hard for a decade, Ironmaster Quick-Lock. For the most compact heavy dumbbell, REP x PÉPIN.

Do I need a stand for 100 lb adjustable dumbbells?

You do not need one, but at 100 lb each you will want one at roughly knee height so you can pick the pair up in a hinge rather than off the floor, and the tray-style dumbbells (NÜOBELL, PowerBlock) sit best on their makers’ stands. See our dumbbell rack guide for stands that fit adjustable pairs.

Bottom line: the NÜOBELL 100 if you want 100 lb with a one-second change, the PowerBlock Pro 100 EXP if you want to buy the weight in stages with 2.5 lb steps, Ironmaster Quick-Lock if durability and 120 lb+ matter more than speed, REP x PÉPIN if budget is no object, and a Yes4All spin-lock set or Olympic handles if it is. Under 100 lb, our best adjustable dumbbells ranking has the full field.
